16 DAYS

Not going to lie the last month of this pregnancy has been brutal. I do not sleep anymore because my indigestion is so bad and when I have a day relief from that then I am up anyway because I have to pee every hour. My poor husband has been a trooper. He has become an incredibly light sleeper and so he is awake each time I am as well. Supposedly I have started snoring so bad that sometimes he has been going downstairs to the other bed because I sound like a train.

I feel like a beached whale literally and all of my maternity clothes seriously do not fit. How do you grow out of maternity clothes you ask well I am not sure either but I have. The swelling has started to get out of hand. The only thing that makes it feel better is heading over to my parents pool and floating for hours. I am really lucky to be able to do this because I know a lot don't have this luxury.

Swimming started last week and I think we are going to have a pretty good team. I have been slightly overwhelmed at the amount of things that will have to happen this year with a new baby so I am trying to remind myself to take it one day at a time and it should all work out.

Now on to the best part. Even though I would say that I am officially miserable and exhausted I woke up this morning realizing that our baby is due in 16 DAYS. I can not believe it. 16 days does not seem that long so please friends pray for no more than that. Here is a list of  16 things I am most looking forward to Cora being here.
  • Holding her for the first time
  • Seeing my husband hold her for the first time
  • Figuring out who she looks like
  • Snuggles on the couch
  • Introducing her to family and friends and Bentley
  • Indigestion be gone
  • Sleeping on my tummy
  • Removing this basketball under my stomach
  • Wearing normal clothes - I know this could be awhile but still
  • Taking walks in her stroller
  • Dressing her up in her many outfits she has acquired
  • Washing those baby clothes
  • Giving her baths and smelling that really good baby smell
  • Reading her books
  • Nursing
  • Becoming a family of three
I know there are a ton more but thinking about these things keeps the end in sight. At the end of the day all the puking, swelling, indigestion, non sleeping, gaining way to much weight has totally been worth it. We have wanted this baby for a long time and she was not easy to get so even when I am grouchy and just want her out I am reminded how blessed I am to have been given this gift. God is Good.

Cora's Nursury

Cora's nursury is now totally done. There are a few more items completed even from these pictures but I thought this gives a pretty good description of what the room looks like. Here is the skinny on where I got everything for the room.
ROCKER: Is from Restoration Hardware Baby and boy do I love it. I  know what you are thinking white is going to get so dirty but actually it is a slipcover and made out of outdoor fabric and so it is very durable and will be easy to slip off and wash.
ROUND OTTOMAN & RUG:  TJ Maxx and I have had both items for at least two years.
BABY ANIMAL PRINTS: Tiny Animal Prints and the frames from Hobby Lobby. I first saw these prints at RH Baby and they were selling teh framed prints for $175.00 a piece. I did a little research and found you could just order the prints direct. My total cost per framed picture was around $30.00 instead of $175.00 per frame.

MIRROR: Is a mirror that I have had even when I lived in my parents house.
CURTAINS: Target. They were the perfect pale pink to match my bedding.
CRIB & BEDDING: Restoration Hardware Baby. I really splurged on these items but it was so worth it I could not be more happy with the colors and quality. (Note: If you are purchasing a bumper from RH Baby please ask me about mine. I did have to make some modifications to this.)

I love walking in her room  sitting in the rocker, looking around the room and smelling all the clean clothes that I have washed. The official countdown is on because I will be 37 weeks pregnant on Thursday and yes I am starting to feel every bit pregnant.

Still here..

Can't believe that I have been such a bad blogger. I thought once I got pregnant that I would make sure to do a good job documenting this pregnancy. I have done a terrible job. So much has gone on in the last ten or so weeks its crazy. Beginning June 1st I began only working part time at Davis-Houk, swim lessons started, all about baby classes are in full swing, I have had one baby shower, Cora's Nursury is in a disastrous state of projects and organization and I have gotten huge.

Can't believe that in about ten weeks Luke and I get to meet this little girl. She has been moving like crazy and it is so fun now because Luke gets to feel her all the time. We have had a bunch of convos trying to picture what she will look like and how big she will be. Funny thing is I can not even guess who or what she will look like.

Here is a picture of the Cora belly at almost 30 weeks. Cant believe that I am going to keep on growing. I feel huge!!

16 weeks(As of 3/22/13)

How far along:
16 Weeks - Baby is the size of avacado

About this week:
I really cant sleep on my stomach anymore. The times that I have rolled onto my stomach during the night my body wakes me up and I feeling sick. What has stressed me out is how many times I have woken up on my back. One of my books told me that at 15 weeks to stop sleeping on you back but I seem to wake up that way a lot. I have been told that as you get bigger that you will get woken up if you roll to your back so I am hoping that is the case. I have started trying to sleep with a pillow in front and in back of me to prevent this. Good thing we have a California King bed because I am sure I am hogging a lot of space. My belly has gotten huge!!! Seriously it is the craziest thing to grow a human. Your body starts growing and changing in places and ways you can not imagine. My sweet sweet husband has been super gracious and I love him for the encouragement when I feel gross.

Symptoms:
Still pretty nausea some days and if it is not nausea then it is the indigestion and overall feeling of just having an off stomach. It seems that by about 9:30 at night no matter if I have had a nap or not I am ready for bed bc I feel so crummy. Mornings tend to be the best. I have noticed that I am starting to get some of my energy back. I was able to clean for a whole two hours on Saturday and that was after having worked for three at my sisters new house.

Food Aversions:
Nope. I really crave everything but just have to be careful what I eat.

Weight Gain:
Well I weigh 138lbs which is 11 pounds up from IUI day. I was hoping to not gain any weight for just a couple more weeks so I can stay on track but I guess I will need to start really monitoring my food intake. No diets of course but just eating smart healthy food. All I can say is once I reach that 140 mark I think I will be a basket case for a day.

Best moment of the week:
Each day is a huge blessing and I am thankful that we are this far along and everything seems perfect.

What I am looking forward to:
Gender reveal party and hopefully feeling Shermbaby start to kick real soon!

How about a funny...

My grandma Mary had the best stories to tell. Most of the time they were about her and something she did that was really embarrassing or silly. When we were younger we would always say to her             "grandma please tell me another funny" . I have had many funnies in my life and so in honor of my grandma here is a little "funny"  that happened to me.

A few weeks ago in the midst of my puking extravaganza that I seemed to be on I woke up in the middle of the night and knew I was going to be sick. I ran into our bathroom and for some reason could not make it to the toilet so I decided the sink was the next best thing. In the midst of the constant puking I saw blood and freaked out. Realizing that not only was I having a hard time stopping the puking but I was having a bloody nose at the same time. In the midst of the craziness I  must have been gripping the pedestal sink so hard that I ripped it away from the wall causing the caulking to completely rip away. Here I am standing in the bathroom head over the sink puking with a bloody nose crying while gripping the wobbly sink. Poor Luke comes in the bathroom to try to help and I am trying to wave him away from the crime scene. Instead he held my hair, rubbed my back and helped me gain control and clean up. If that is not a good hubby I am not sure what is. Now I just need to get the sink fixed :)
