12 WEEKS

How far along:
12 Weeks - Baby is the size of a Plum
About this week:
A couple of days ago I gave in and wore my maternity pants. The next day I wore regular pants with my belly band and was miserable so it is back to the maternity pants for sure. It is super hard to find maternity jeans in Champaign-Urbana. I tried all the stores that sell jeans and I did find two pairs that fit but with my long legs and no hips it was a challenge. I will do a post in the coming weeks on what I liked and where I found what I have so far.  My sweet friend Margo gave me some stickers that you can put right on your t-shirt that say 12 weeks, 16 weeks ect. I am going to start this week.

Symptoms:
Bloat, Nausea, Heartburn/Indigestion,trouble sleeping at night and the most crazy one is my sniffer. I seriously can smell something a mile away and most things have been giving me a gag reflex. I used to love the smell of my wall flowers at home but I had to take that down and opening the fridge or any fridge about does me in. I told Laura today this must be how dogs feel. Except they like all smells :)

Food Aversions:
Really depends on the day. Most things just do not sound very good. I was eating an English muffin almost everyday and this week that has had to stop because I cant even swallow a bite.

Weight Gain:
Decided not to weigh myself today. It just makes me feel panicky and depressed. I am still not eating a ton and really dont eat sweets bc they do not seem appealing so I know that whatever I am gaining has to be my body adjusting to the baby and not because I eat to much.

Best moment of the week:
Hitting 12 weeks. This has been my first goal from the beginning. I feel like I can finally breath a little and that  this is really going to happen.

What I am looking forward to:
We have a ultrasound on Monday and I am so so excited for this. These really help put your mind at ease each time you see the baby. And I think the baby is going to look so so different.

11 Weeks(As of 2/15/13)

How far along:

11 Weeks - baby is the size of a lime
About this week:
Last week I got to meet one of the six midwives. She was super sweet and I am ready glad that I chose to go this route. Over the rest of my pregnancy I will meet with each of the midwives at least twice so when the time comes to have the baby I should be comfortable with all of them.

Symptoms:
Nausea & Vomiting hit like a tidal wave about 3 weeks ago

Food Aversions:
Everything :(

Weight Gain:
I weighed myself last night on my scale fully clothed at 133 so up 6 pounds since IUI.

Best moment of the week:
Getting a prescription for Zofran to help with the vomiting. I have actually not puked in 5 days which is just awesome.

What I am looking forward to:
Our next sonogram which is a week from today on the 25th. I am sure baby will look so much different. I am also looking forward to getting out of the first trimester. Everyone says the second trimester is awesome so here is to hoping.

8 WEEKS(as of 1/22/13)

How far along:
8 WEEKS - Baby is the size of a Raspberry

About this week:
It was my birthday this week and it was just great. I got to celebrate with all my family on multiple days. The day of my birthday baby woke me up with a date to puke my guts out in the toilet. Aside from that I was showered with gifts, flowers, balloons and tons of Happy Birthdays. Sometimes I dread getting older but not this year because turning 27 means I will get to become a mom for the very first time.

Symptoms:
Nausea, Nausea and more Nausea with a side of puke. This really kicked my butt this week. I am throwing it out there that I am a huge wimp and when t

Food Aversions:
Yogurt and leftovers. Mostly just smells. Food really does no

Weight Gain:
I am down a few pounds from a couple of weeks ago. I really packed on the pounds during our cruise. I am officially 133.8 so that is about 5  pounds. I am hoping that this crazy weight gain is from my progesterone suppositories, the holiday's and cruise. My goal is to continue to eat healthy  start walking again and not gain any more weight for the next 5 weeks.

Best moment of the week:
I received 4 cards in the mail from family and friends who are so excited about us having this baby.

What I am looking forward to:
2nd Ultrasound on Feb 4th

7 Weeks - There is a baby in there!!! (as of 1/14/13)

How far along:
7 WEEKS - Baby is the size of a Blueberry

About this week:
I feel great! It was so exciting to see our little "sunny" as Luke calls it on the ultrasound. When they showed us what the baby looked like he thought it looked like a sunny side egg so I guess the nickname may just stick. We took a video while we were at the ultrasound and I will post it. It is pretty dark but will be a definite keepsake. The heartbeat was perfect at 152bpm so right now everything is perfect and baby just needs to keep on growing.

Symptoms:
Waking up every two hours to use the restroom, Nausea in the morning when I wake and anytime my stomach gets empty. Good news is as long as a I eat I am good to go.

Food Aversions:
Nope not all all probably the opposite.

Weight Gain:
We are going to skip this one for today. We got back from our cruise on Saturday the 19th and lets just say I put on my normal cruise weight gain. At my appointment on the 21st I was up quite a few pounds so I am going to forget about the number and work on eating healthy next week and weigh in then,

Best moment of the week:
Seeing our little baby with the heartbeat  on the ultrasound at 7weeks 3 days. Due Date is September 6th 2013.

What I am looking forward to:
February 4th for our next ultrasound and hopefully seeing little arm and leg buds. Also I get to stop the progesterone suppositories on Feb 8th when I will be officially 10 weeks.

6 WEEKS(as of 1/10/13)

How far along:
6 WEEKS - Baby is the size of a Sweet Pea

About this week:
Bought (2) belly bands at Target. They are really a life saver because now my jeans are not as uncomfortable at work.
Symptoms:
Extreme tiredness, nausea in the middle of the night, waking up every two hours(I guess this just starts preparing you for when you have your babe)

Food Aversions:
No aversions but I really just want to eat shrimp all the time.

Weight Gain:
3lb - YIKES - I finally weighed myself and seriously freaked our. I am hoping this has to do with the crazy amount of fluid I am retaining. Any advise on how to not be on a diet but also not gain 3lbs in two weeks. At a rate of 3lbs in 2 weeks I will have gained a total of 54 Pounds by the end of this pregnancy  This is not going to happen!! I am determined that if I am just having 1 baby I will not gain more than 25 pounds. Guess I need to get my expanding rear back to the gym..

Best moment of the week:
Surpassing the 6 week milestone of when I miscarried during my last pregnancy

What I am looking forward to:
Seeing if we have one or two babies at our ultrasound.

5 Weeks(as of 1/3/13)

How far along:
5 WEEKS - Baby is the size of a Appleseed

About this week:
I have been extremely tired. Over the weekend I had all these gran ideas about cleaning out my closets, doing laundry, starting a sewing project and a bunch of other things. I did absolutely none of these things. Seriously I think I slept/lounged most of the weekend. The good news is usually it really bothers me to be so unproductive but right now it really does not. We bought a baby names book. It is supposed to have 100,001 names inside it. It is slightly overwhelming if you think about naming your child. A name is huge. Even though it is really early and we have 35 weeks left to decide upon a name we are going to need every day of that because Luke is impossible in this category.

Symptoms:
I really feel great just tired peeing a lot and sore boobs but nothing that is terrible. I have been thankful every day I wake up feeling good. I have had a few headaches but nothing like I usually get so that is a blessing.

Food Aversions:
None yet

Weight Gain:
Probably - I guess I should have put this in the symptom category because I am eating all the time. I need to get this figured out ASAP. We are going on a cruise next week and I am going to really have to

Best moment of the week:
Being Pregnant

What I am looking forward to:
My Ultrasound on the 21st and our cruise.

4 WEEKS(as of 12/27/12)

How far along:
4 WEEKS - Baby is the size of an Orange Seed

About this week:
We found out we were pregnant on December 27th two days after Christmas. I woke up early that morning to take a test because I was going to have to go in for my blood beta test. After my last IUI I really could not handle being told over the phone that the blood test was negative. I took two tests that morning both with the same brand and they were very very faint. I woke up Luke to ask him if he saw the line. I got my blood test back that morning at 11:30 and my Beta for 13 dpo was a 62.9. The P.A. told me  that looked great and to come back on Monday for more blood work. On Monday I went in for my second round of tests and my beta came back at 384 which was way more than double. My progesterone looked great as well the only thing that was not perfect was my thyroid. It had increased and so she upped my thyroid meds. Good news is because of everything looking great I do not have to go back for any more blood work for at least 4 weeks. She also scheduled my 6 week which will really be  7 weeks and 3 days, because we will be gone on vacation, ultrasound for January 21st. I am beyond excited for this appointment.

Symptoms:
Tiredness, having to pee a lot more and waking up every night to use the restroom, bloating, mild cramps and my boobs have gotten very sore.

Food Aversions:
None yet :)

Weight Gain:
Non yet but I was surprised because I have ate a ton in the last week. I guess I need to get this figured out.

Best moment of the week:
Finding out that after 20 months trying to conceive with a miscarriage in July of 2011, multiple meds, shots, surgery and IUI's we are pregnant again!!

What I am looking forward to:
Starting to take bump pictures and my first ultrasound on Jan 21st and making this post blog public.

IT ALL BECAME SO WORTH IT.....

After 20 months, 1 miscarriage, 2, IUI's, 1 Laporoscpy,  ovulation sticks, temp charting, hundreds of pills/shots, countless doctor appointments, thousands of dollars and many tears it all became so worth it because....

WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!!!

Today I am 10 weeks pregnant and this picture was taken on Monday. Baby was not wanting to cooperate very well and this was the best picture we could get. You can see part of the head its two arms and two legs. We were able to see it wiggling all around which was really cool and also very weird at the same time. Needless to say we are very excited that Shermbaby will be here sooner than we know it.

Over the last 5 weeks I have been blogging but not publishing my weekly updates. I really wanted to have something to remember each step of the way. I will be posting those over the next few days even though they are kind of boring.
